Ashley Byam

Biography

Ashley Byam was born in East London, at a young age his mother enrolled him in drama and dance classes. He first knew acting was more than a passion in his primary school production of 'A Christmas Carol' however he wouldn't pursue an acting career until his late teens. In college, he studied performing arts and subsequently trained as a dancer in Ballet, Contemporary and Street as well as being part of a youth dance company based in East London. He would take his skills to the Oxford School of Drama, but before starting his training in 2011 he played the titular role in a UK tour of Romeo and Juliet. He graduated from OSD in 2014, not before being cast by Brian Helgeland (by way of Syson Grainger Casting) to play the role of "John", in the Kray Twins biopic 'Legend', opposite Tom Hardy. A few weeks later he was offered a supporting lead role in 'The Legend of Tarzan' alongside Alexander Skarsgärd, Samuel L. Jackson and Margot Robbie. In addition to his ever-growing Film and TV career, he is also a very accomplished stage actor. Most recently he appeared at the Royal National Theatre in London, as well as a tour of the production 'The Velveteen Rabbit' in London, Broadway, Barcelona, and Seattle.
